“I attended a screening of Amelia tonight, (reviews coming Friday), and much to my pleasant surprise they showed a brand-new trailer for the hugely-anticipated Avatar. This over 3-minute trailer has gotten me more excited for the film than the original teaser-trailer and 16-minutes of “Avatar Day” footage put together. It explains the story very well for those who don’t already know what it’s about, has a very classy type-font that looks like something right out of a ‘70’s blockbuster, and best of all reminds people of James Cameron’s impressive filmography.”
I was personally really impressed by the footage shown at Avatar day, so if the trailer even exceeds what we saw then, the trailer has to be awesome.
Jim at MarketSaw tips about Avatar the Game footage from Nintendo Wii. Looks cool.
We know that the games (for all platforms) will contain things that we will not see in the movie. But the game developers have collaborated closely with Cameron and his team to make sure everything in the games fits in to the Avatar universe. It’s possible that we thorough the games will see stuff that eventually end up in a sequel to Avatar – Avatar 2.
The game will be out December 1 according to Amazon.com.
Have a look at the video, looks promising, there is a big helicopter in there, a transporter maybe?
If you are making a blockbuster movie like Avatar, you also need to have an action figures line to offer. And of cause, Avatar has just that.
This post just feature a few of the action figures that’s already available, they are made by Mattel and look like you would expect, a bit plastic. But it’s still fun to have a look at the toys as you get to see a lot of details on the machines and creatures that flash by very fast in the teaser trailer.
Some of the toys includes a little card that you scan via your webcam and by that creates an on-screen augmented reality robot or character that you can play around with on your computer, it looks very cool and is kind of hard to explain so have a look at the embedded video.
Now you know what to buy you kids/friends for christmas!
If you want to see all the toys, have a look at Amazon.com

Great news Avatar fans, the final official Avatar trailer will be out October 23rd, but only in theaters. If you want to see it on the web you’ll have to wait until October 29th.
Rumor has it that it will be 3 minutes and 30 seconds long, this will be awesome.
“ComingSoon.net has confirmed that 20th Century Fox will debut a new trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar in theaters this Friday, October 23rd! The trailer, which clocks in at roughly around 3 minutes and 30 seconds, won’t be coming online until October 29th. You should really see this in theaters anyways as we’ve learned that this is THE trailer, the one that will show you much more story (as opposed to the teaser trailer previously released).”
Wow, I’ve just finished reading a 12 page long article about James Cameron at The New Yorker (thanks Firstshowing.net for the tip). The article focuses a lot on Avatar but you’ll also get to know Cameron’s earlier work (Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Titanic etc.) and get some insight into what it takes to make a movie the James Cameron way.
So if you have the time to spare, I highly recommend reading it, you wont be sorry. My expectations on Avatar just keeps on building.
I have found a new batch of photos over at the Spoiler-TV. You can see the photos below, if you click your way to Spoiler-TV you can see high resolution versions. The detail is just amazing.
The teaser trailer has been out for a while now and I’m eager to see the full length trailer that should be out soon. In the meantime I have made a frame by frame (or maybe more like scene by scene) gallery of the teaser trailer where you can have a closer look at what’s going on in a more calm way than watching the trailer where a lot of footage are flashing by in high tempo.
The Opening Day Luncheon for ShoWest was sponsored by IMAX, who showed a sizzle reel of recent and upcoming IMAX movies. They didn’t show any footage from James Cameron’s highly-anticipated Avatar, which will be opening in IMAX 3D on December 18, but they did reveal a new tagline for the film which hints on what to expect:
“An All New World Awaits”
One can probably expect the first trailer with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and maybe a teaser poster.
A rumour has it that James Cameron will include a 12 minute long clip filmed in first person view in Avatar.
Sounds cool right? I think so. Then I saw this clip embedded below.
It has nothing to do with Avatar, but it really shows in a good way how it could be done. This clip is some kind of demo or viral marketing thing and includes a lot of special effects.
Imagine this in Camerons hands, ad some more special effects, multiply that by ten. And lastly, ad 3D and you will literally be there.
Latinoreview.com has gotten hold of a high resolution version of a photo I have published earlier here on avatarplanet.net. This version shows of alot more detail, especially interesting are the monitors above James Cameron’s head.
